YORK COUNTY FOOD ALLIANCE

Vision
A healthy community where everyone has access to food produced in ways that protect and strengthen our environment and local economy.

Activities
The York County Food Alliance has been created to…
- Involve local individuals, organizations and businesses in building a sustainable local food system that promotes the health of individuals, communities and the natural environment
- Gather and share information about how York County’s food system works
Develop programs that address gaps in the county’s food system - Advocate for and advise on food system and food policy implementation
Formation of the York County Food Alliance was a principal recommendation of the report issued by York County’s Food Availability Task Force (FATF) and a Food Policy Work Group. These two groups worked for a year conducting a food assessment, discussing opportunities for strengthening York County’s food system and reporting out recommendations.
